Businesses throughout downtown Tacoma helped kick off the month long Walk to Work and Win incentive program on Friday, September 6, Walk to Work Day, by holding walking meetings and employee walks at lunch and break times. Even though September 6 was a rainy day in Tacoma, Franciscan Health System, the American Heart Association, Commencement Bank, the Tacoma Housing Authority, Group Health, and the Department of Social and Health Services all had their own walk event for their employees. Photos from these events can be seen on the Downtown On the Go Facebook page.
These events on Walk to Work Day helped kick-off the Walk to Work and Win incentive program in September. By walking to work at least 5 times in the month of September and logging those trips on the Commuter Calendar at PierceTrips.com, downtown employees and residents will receive a $5 coffee card and a DOTG bag, and will be eligible to win a $100 gift certificate to South Sound Running.
It’s not too late to start walking to work. Take the challenge and earn prizes for walking!

Walk to Work and Win is sponsored by Franciscan Health System.
