The History Behind the Names Walk, led by Melissa McGinnis, Connie Terry, Megan Sukys, and Karen Pickett, will start and end at the lion sculptures at the south end of Wright Park. Registration and check-in will be open from 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Save time by registering online here for the entire series. The first 140 people to register and check in at the event will receive a swag bag.
The Walk Tacoma series, sponsored by MultiCare is a five-event walking series held on the first Wednesday of the month, from April through August. The fun, themed walks, now in their eleventh year, encourage people to enjoy downtown on foot by introducing new walking routes and sharing information about the community and its history through the guided tours. All Walk Tacoma events are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers and are 1 – 2 miles in length. All walks include activities for children provided by the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, and American Sign Language interpretation.
